Requirements

  • Associates degree preferred and/or 3-5 years’ experience supervising hourly personnel in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a food, beverage or pharmaceutical industry and/or high-speed manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing to a budget, department cost control
  • Previous experience with Oracle or a similar ERP Business module
  • Effective communication skills
  • Collaborative work style
  • Proficient in software along with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Red Zone
  • Passion for continuous improvement/operations excellence

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing operation on the non-day shifts, under the direction of the Production Manager. This includes the meeting of established safety, quality, line efficiency, and production yields, cost per case, schedule attainment, and customer service standards and plant capacities
  • Work with HR and Production Manager to recruit and retain personnel to achieve fore-mentioned standards
  • Coordinate and support training activities and develop staff to achieve established company goals / standards
  • Support the Plant Manager/Production Manager in achievement of site KPI’s in support of company goals and improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with corresponding departments to achieve company objectives
  • Improve safety culture at assigned site/shifts; increase employee engagement in identification and resolution of safety hazards
  • Actively organize and review processes for continuous improvement/operations excellence (safety, cost, quality, delivery) on assigned shifts
  • Responsible for Food Safety on assigned shifts and support responsibilities under the HACCP Plan
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals, coaching on leadership competencies and ensuring IDP’s are in place
  • Maintain employee work schedules including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, and disciplinary action
  • May be responsible for coordinating and directing sanitation personnel in absence of Sanitation Manager
  • Develop and execute a viable productivity funnel of projects and executable plans
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
