About The Position
Big Country Pet Co. is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to support daily production operations. The role involves ensuring targets are met while upholding high standards in food safety, quality, and efficiency. This position will provide leadership across shifts and support after-hours operations as needed. Requirements
- 5+ years in food manufacturing
- 2–3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and Lean principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Post-secondary education
Responsibilities
- Support and oversee production activities across shifts
- Drive performance against KPIs, productivity, and cost targets
- Lead, coach, and support Production Leads and teams
- Act as escalation point for production issues and ensure timely resolution
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, safety, and regulatory standards
- Partner with QA on food safety, audits, and corrective actions
- Analyze production data and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
