This role involves actively participating in and training bakery department crew members to sell fresh in-store scratch bakery products. The Assistant Produce Manager also prepares fresh produce for sale by receiving, washing, cutting, and stocking products. They assist with leadership duties such as planning work, coaching, administering discipline, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Daily team huddles are conducted to communicate sales goals and reinforce guest service expectations. The position also involves assisting with ordering products and supplies, checking in orders, stocking, and organizing storage areas. Writing daily plans and weekly work schedules, rotating merchandise, maintaining displays, and ensuring product freshness are key responsibilities. The role includes assisting with produce department related POS maintenance, ensuring displays are stocked, and maintaining records for damaged/spoiled merchandise. Compliance with food and workplace safety rules, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the work area and equipment are essential. The Assistant Produce Manager is expected to acquire product knowledge across departments to assist guests and stay updated on weekly specials and promotions. A team-oriented work environment that inspires collaboration and cooperation is expected. The store operates seven days a week, requiring potential weekend, holiday, and shift work.
