About The Position

This position will assist the principal with administrative tasks promoting outstanding education and achievement for all students, developing individuals and teams, and nurturing relationships. Supervise a combination of certified and classified employees. Analyze data and modify professional development in response to results. Provide opportunities for and support ongoing development of all staff. Deep level of involvement with the development and implementation of all instructional programs. Develop and promote good community relations among stakeholders.

  • Master's degree with emphasis in curriculum, instruction, educational leadership or administration (required).
  • Five (5) years successful teaching experience (required).
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Valid Colorado Principal License upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operations of the school and function as principal in his/her absence.
  • Serve as an instructional leader by monitoring implementation of professional development through classroom observations, department meetings, and team planning and PLC meetings.
  • Coordinate and support system for maintaining appropriate student conduct throughout the school to provide an orderly environment that contributes to the success of all students.
  • Collaborate on supporting the 90-Day plan, including Data Driven Instruction and PLC cycles.
  • Collaborate with others in the strategic assignment of all students that provides the greatest potential for maximizing achievement.
  • Collaborate with others in the assignment and the supervision of delivery systems in order to most effectively provide for students with special needs.
  • Promote an environment of student achievement by utilizing data management tools to analyze results and draw inferences in order to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor school-wide behavior expectations and policies; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and confirming to legal requirements and regulations.
  • Lead initiatives that will enhance student success in and out of school.
  • Coordinate and over state testing systems including CMAS.
  • Coordinate, communicate and support school activities that encourage stakeholder involvement in student learning and the district as a whole.
  • Provide quality, accurate, constructive, corrective, specific and timely feedback to students and staff that encourages them to perform at their highest level.
  • Supervise extra-curricular activities and events.
  • Promote effective communication within the school and between the school and community.
  • Create positive staff and community support, understanding, and participation in the school improvement process.
  • Establish student, staff and parental rapport that allows for a proactive response to potential problems.
  • Coordinate the administration of state and district mandated assessments.
  • Address building management concerns by working with the custodial staff, office staff, teachers and District staff including implementing school-wide safety and emergency protocols.
  • Utilize technology and/or other avenues to communicate with stakeholders.
  • Serve as liaison for school and district.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Lead staff members in implementing effective instructional and curricular practices responding to the needs of students, the direction of the District, and valid innovations in education.
  • Utilizes appropriate resources of the staff, student body, school district and the community to develop and maintain highly effective instructional and co-curricular programs
  • Plans and implements goals and objectives related to the improvement of instruction in a standard based model and leading to increased student achievement
  • Plans and implements professional development activities for teachers and other staff members
  • Responsible for performance evaluation and supervision of each staff member assigned to the school
  • Develops and maintains effective communications among the students, the community, the faculty and the administration
  • Plans and implements effective school improvement processes leading to increased student performance
  • Supports the mission and vision of the Superintendent and Board of Education
  • Oversees both certified and classified staff.
  • Performs supervisory duties in alignment with district policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work activities.
  • Conducts conferences, sets goals, and performs both formal and informal observations.
  • Provides ongoing feedback and completes employee evaluations.
  • Recognizes and rewards performance, administers discipline, and recommends termination when necessary.
  • Addresses employee concerns and resolves workplace issues effectively.
  • Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.
  • Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g., procedures, equipment, materials and supplies).
  • Accurately project budgetary needs and plans for effective use of fiscal resources.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy.
