About The Position

The Manchester School District is seeking an Assistant Principal for Southside Middle School. This role is crucial in supporting the principal's primary responsibility of fostering the educational well-being of each student. The Assistant Principal will be directly responsible to the principal for general administration, supervision, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • NH Certification as a Building Principal (0003) at the appropriate level.
  • Master’s degree in educational administration and/or equivalent as required for State Certification.
  • Minimum 5-7 years classroom teacher experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the principal in the development and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Assist the principal in monitoring the proper care of the building and grounds, and in supervising custodians.
  • Assist the principal in communicating and interpreting school policies and practices to parents, students, and the public.
  • Assist the principal in the timely and accurate preparation of all cumulative records, registers, and reports.
  • Assist the principal in the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assist the principal, in cooperation with the school nurse, in maintaining and enforcing immunization controls.
  • Assist the principal and appropriate Central Office Administrators in the evaluation of certified staff, including classroom visitations and conferences, and in making assignment, promotion, renewal, and non-renewal recommendations.
  • Assist the principal in making appropriate assignment, promotion, retention, and dismissal recommendations for non-certified staff.
  • Assist the principal in the preparation of the school's calendar of events and attend designated meetings and activities.
  • Assist the principal in effectively managing all emergency situations.
  • Advise the principal on the promotion, retention, and placement of pupils.
  • Provide supervision as specified in the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Principal.
