Assistant Principal (School Age Program)
About The Position
The Arc Erie County NY is seeking an Assistant Principal for its School Age Program in Cheektowaga, New York. The Assistant Principal supports teachers, strengthens classroom instruction, and helps create meaningful learning opportunities for students ages 5–22 with developmental disabilities. Working closely with the School Principal, this role helps oversee daily school operations and educational programming, supports IEP implementation, and builds positive relationships with students, staff, families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams. The position also supports regulatory compliance and student success. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. The annual salary range is $85,000–$88,000, based on experience.
Requirements
- NYS Permanent or Professional Certification.
- NYS SAS, SDA, or SBL certification.
- Five years of experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for special education.
Responsibilities
- Support daily school operations and provide leadership to teachers and classroom staff.
- Oversee curriculum development, classroom instruction, and IEP implementation.
- Coach and mentor educators to promote a positive, engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Partner with the Principal to ensure educational excellence, regulatory compliance, and student success.
