About The Position

Helix AI & Medical Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Assistant Principal to help lead our Kindergarten through 5th grade campus. This leadership role works closely with the Principal to support academic excellence, foster a positive school culture, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for students, staff, and families. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong communication and organizational skills who is passionate about elementary education and committed to helping students and educators succeed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required.
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certificate required.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Educational leadership certification or eligibility preferred.
  • Previous school leadership or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Principal in the daily operations of the school.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers and staff.
  • Assist with student discipline, attendance, and behavior management in accordance with school policies.
  • Help monitor student academic progress and support school improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and community partners to promote student success.
  • Assist with teacher coaching, evaluations, and professional development.
  • Support implementation of school policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Help oversee campus safety, emergency procedures, and daily school operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
