About The Position

St. Ursula School in Parkville, Maryland is seeking an enthusiastic and mission-driven Assistant Principal to join our leadership team for the 2026–2027 school year. The Assistant Principal will work closely with the Principal to support the day-to-day operations of the school, promote academic excellence, and foster a vibrant Catholic school community. As a member of the School Leadership Team, the Assistant Principal provides instructional leadership, supports faculty and student success, and helps ensure that all educational programs reflect the school's mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives. In collaboration with the Principal, this position also oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs that strengthen the Catholic identity of the school in accordance with the guidance of the Department of Catholic Schools.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in educational administration, supervision, curriculum development, or education.
  • Appropriate MSDE Certification.
  • A minimum of five years teaching experience in Catholic schools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable with technology including GSuite, Google Classroom, and school management programs such as Power School.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in school administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the principal in defining and communicating the school’s mission, goals, and expectations.
  • Provide instructional leadership, in concert with the principal, for the implementation of the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
  • Assist the principal in the supervision and mentoring of faculty and staff.
  • Support faculty in the supervision of students and administration of the school’s Code of Conduct.
  • Assist in determining and implementing school organization, student placement and evaluation, and services and programs that provide for the needs of the students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, administrative and supervisory personnel, parents, and community.
  • Engage in professional and community activities as an official representative of the school.
