The Assistant Principal will provide leadership in curriculum development and coordination, serve as a grade level coordinator, and assist the Principal in directing the pupil personnel program and overall personnel management, including faculty, clerical, custodial, and support staff. This role also involves assisting the Principal in instructional program leadership, school administration, business affairs, and community relations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • At least five years of successful employment experience in education, including teaching, supervision, and administration.
  • Particular experience in areas such as curriculum, evaluation and supervision, and management of schools.
  • SEI Endorsement

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate curriculum activities and foster a creative and supportive environment for curriculum development, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Assist in the operation, supervision, and evaluation of all faculty and staff personnel, including selection and assignment, master schedule creation, mediating staff concerns, and preparing for meetings.
  • Stay updated on new developments in curriculum, evaluation, and school management, disseminating information and conducting staff development seminars.
  • Assist school counselors in assessing student needs, coordinating special education and guidance services, and supporting student health and safety programs.
  • Supervise and advise team facilitators and subject matter specialists, attending team meetings.
  • Direct routine office affairs and maintain accounts, budget records, and support service utilization records.
  • Monitor the appearance of the school building and coordinate repairs and maintenance.
  • Supervise pupil management and accounting, including attendance, tardiness, and disciplinary referrals.
  • Participate in professional development and provide training to District employees.
  • Work cooperatively with students, parents, agencies, and other individuals to strengthen home-school and community-school relationships.
  • Participate in Restraint Training, become certified, and maintain the ability to implement restraint techniques, understanding related regulations and potentially becoming a certified trainer.
  • Conduct other staff duties as directed by the principal, including administering the school in the principal's absence, attending meetings, and participating in community engagement.
