About The Position

The Assistant Principal will cooperatively work with the principal in the maintenance of appropriate instructional and extra-curricular programs for the benefit of students. This role involves assisting the principal by carrying out designated duties in directing the daily activities of the staff and students. The Assistant Principal shall act in the capacity of the principal during his/her absence from duty and become familiar with all phases of the school program. The position requires demonstrating aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks. The Assistant Principal will also serve as a role model for students, helping to instill ethical principles and democratic values.

Requirements

  • State of Ohio Principal’s Certificate
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Candidates seeking an administrative license will be considered if able to obtain a one-year alternative administrative license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the principal in the general administration of the school, including school transportation, cafeteria, custodial services, and secretarial staff.
  • Supervise student conduct/discipline by enforcing the Cloverleaf Board of Education's code of conduct.
  • Supervise student attendance according to the policy in the code of conduct.
  • Supervise the security of the building during the school day.
  • Help the principal in the preparation and review of the code of conduct, teachers' handbook, master schedule, and student registration booklet.
  • Assist the principal in the observation, supervision and evaluation of the staff.
  • Assist the principal with the planning and organization of the opening and closing of the school year.
  • Assist the district administrative team in establishing and maintaining positive school/community relations.
  • Assist the high school administrative team in the coverage of extra-curricular activities.
  • Work with the special education director and guidance department in the appropriate placement of students.
  • Perform additional activities as assigned by the building principal.
  • Conduct other duties related to the assistant principal’s duties as assigned by the principal or local superintendent.
