About The Position

Tulsa Honor Academy (THA) is seeking an Assistant Principal of Culture for the 2026-2027 school year. THA is dedicated to equipping all scholars with the academic skills, content knowledge, and ethical character necessary for college graduation and life success. The organization believes that all scholars, regardless of background, can achieve at high levels and is committed to ensuring 100% of scholars are on a path to college graduation. THA, founded in 2015, will serve over 1,400 scholars in grades 5-12 across three schools in the 2026-2027 academic year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in a school setting is required

Nice To Haves

  • State certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a school culture role is highly preferred
  • Prior experience in a school serving a similar population to THA’s is preferred
  • Charter school experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead school and scholar culture while developing strong, trusting relationships with scholars, families, and staff.
  • Nurture a school environment that is structured, ensures all scholars are physically and emotionally safe, infuses character values, and utilizes a centralized behavior management continuum.
  • Develop a palpably positive school climate with frequent and authentic instances of shared smiling, laughter and enthusiasm where joy is deeply rooted in achievement, the content, and team/individual successes.
  • Teach and enforce school-wide systems, rules and consequences, disciplinary codes, and rewards at all times.
  • Value parents as partners.
  • Model what is expected from adults as they drive culture.
  • Support teammates, families, and scholars.
  • Ensure Tulsa Honor Academy is on track for academic excellence by creating a data-driven culture, supporting teachers in classroom management, ensuring staff utilize school-wide systems for culture/behavior, and planning professional development sessions.
  • Conduct consistent observations of and debriefs with teachers and staff, ensure staff effectively implement weekly action steps, provide quality feedback, and offer live feedback or classroom intervention when needed.
  • Ensure school culture maximizes learning and creates an environment full of joy and engagement, covering non-instructional time, in-class behavior, classroom engagement, and utilization of school-wide systems and structures.
  • Build relationships with classroom teachers, address teacher needs, communicate proactively, celebrate scholar achievement, model THA expectations, and work to build positive staff morale.
  • Embody THA’s leadership mindset, manage time and tasks, take ownership of tasks, communicate effectively, remain committed to excellence, and remain proactive in all areas of responsibility.
