About The Position

Sheridan is seeking an Assistant Press Operator/Senior manufacturing Associate for our Liberty, MO facility. This role involves preparing, operating, and maintaining web press equipment to ensure high-quality production. The shift is the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and overtime opportunities.

Requirements

• Web press experience preferred, but we will train the right person!
• Strong understanding of printing processes or mechanical aptitude.
• Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to handle practical variables.
• Clear communication skills to read instructions and work in teams.
• Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate and set up bindery equipment (cutters, folders, stitchers, and perfect binders)
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving
• Follow safety procedures and help maintain a clean, organized workspace
• Setup: Open, inspect, shaft, and web up paper rolls to correct width.
• Adjustments: Set nip rollers, change blades, adjust folder pins, and set web guides.
• Delivery: Adjust paper feed guides, stacker belt tension, and bundle lengths.
• Printing: Engage print units, hang blankets, and monitor water and dampening systems.
• Quality: Read quality plans, check plates for flaws, and match color proofs.
• Maintenance: Wash up the press, clean equipment, and lubricate machinery daily.
• Safety: Safely operate stackers, clear down time by cleaning, and follow safety protocols.
