About The Position
The Assistant Plant Electrical Engineer assists the Plant Engineer in leading and directing salaried and hourly personnel engaged in all phases of the plant engineering function. This includes installation, repair, and maintenance of plant systems, equipment, grounds, and facilities. The role requires a strong electrical background, maintenance or furnace operations experience, experience with maintenance management software, and the ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
Requirements
- Industrial electrical experience.
- Five years of experience in a maintenance leadership position in a manufacturing facility.
- Strong electrical background.
- Strong maintenance and/or furnace operations background.
- Experience with maintenance management software.
- Experience in a maintenance leadership role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- Glass industry experience preferred.
- Technical trade school training, or a high school diploma or equivalent combined with relevant work experience, will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing preventive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate and supervise construction and service work performed by outside contractors.
- Conduct periodic inspections of plant systems, equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Review shift operations, make decisions, and implement actions related to shift changes that may affect processing, procedures, personnel, equipment, and customer requirements.
- Track downtime and provide solutions to decrease downtime.
- Assist the Plant Engineer in leading and directing salaried and hourly personnel involved in plant engineering, installation, repair, and maintenance.
