Assistant Patient Care Director, 3A/Cardiac IMCU (Night Shift)
About The Position

Our state of the art brand new 21 bed Cardiovascular Intermediate Care Unit (3A) opened January 2025. We are looking for motivated nurses who are looking to professionally grow with us! Cardiovascular IMCU specializes in adult cardiovascular population including pre and post cardiac surgery patients, post structural heart procedures, post pacemaker/ICD placement. Post pulmonary and vascular procedures include but not limited to video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), thoracotomy, fem-pop bypass; pericardial window, and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). Nursing skills include competence in basic dysrhythmia, ACLS, and good critical thinking skills. Strong team work is essential in promoting a positive working environment leading to positive patient outcomes. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- One year of experience in nursing / patient care required.
- One year of demonstrated leadership ability required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing is required.
- BLS Certification is required.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in Area of Clinical Specialty is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for direction of the nursing unit(s) in coordination with the patient care director in concert with the goals of that unit according to the philosophy of the Division of Patient Care Services.
- Includes unit administration, direct nursing care and coordinating activities with ancillary departments.
- Reports to the patient care director.
- An advanced competency level, knowledge of the nursing process, and consistently meeting or exceeding all criteria of the staff nurse performance appraisal tool is expected.
