About The Position

Boater’s World Marine Centers is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Parts Manager to directly support the Parts Manager at our Lake Placid location. This is a hands-on, support-focused role responsible for helping execute daily parts operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring both the service and sales teams have the parts and accessories they need to operate efficiently. While this position supports the Parts Manager, it will also play an active role in parts and accessory sourcing and ordering, working with vendors to ensure timely availability and accurate fulfillment. The ideal candidate has prior marine parts experience, understands dealership workflows, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Prior marine parts experience in a dealership or marine service environment
  • Strong understanding of marine engines, components, and rigging parts
  • Experience with Lightspeed DMS (or similar; Lightspeed strongly preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and operate efficiently in a high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Team-first mindset with a willingness to support leadership
  • Reliable, consistent, and highly organized
  • Comfortable taking direction and executing at a high level
  • Proactive and solution-oriented in day-to-day operations

Responsibilities

  • Work directly alongside the Parts Manager to support daily operations
  • Assist in executing department processes, priorities, and workflow
  • Step in to support both front counter and back-end operations as needed
  • Help maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of the parts department
  • Assist in overseeing daily parts department operations alongside the Parts Manager
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through routine cycle counts and adjustments
  • Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming parts shipments
  • Actively source and order marine parts and accessories from vendors
  • Research and identify correct parts, components, and rigging based on service and sales needs
  • Track and manage backorders, ensuring timely follow-up and communication
  • Monitor parts availability to support service turnaround times and sales deliveries
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts department
  • Work closely with Service Writers and Technicians to fulfill parts requests quickly and accurately
  • Assist in identifying correct marine parts, engines, and rigging components
  • Help minimize service downtime by ensuring timely parts availability
  • Prioritize internal service needs to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Assist Sales Associates with quoting marine accessories, add-ons, and installation costs
  • Work directly with customers to recommend appropriate marine accessories and upgrades
  • Provide guidance on safety equipment, maintenance items, and product compatibility
  • Ensure accurate and timely accessory sourcing to support boat deals and deliveries
  • Coordinate with Sales and Service teams to ensure seamless accessory installation
  • Utilize Lightspeed DMS for inventory tracking, ordering, and invoicing
  • Process purchase orders, returns, and vendor invoices accurately
  • Assist with maintaining pricing accuracy and vendor relationships
  • Support the Parts Manager with reporting and daily operational tracking
