About The Position

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position, starting Fall 2027. The ideal candidate will have expertise in synthetic organic, bioorganic, bioinorganic, medicinal chemistry, or biochemistry. Research interests should align with or intersect with synthetic chemistry or biochemical expertise with the translational neuroscience expertise and centers developing at UTA. These centers include the UTA Clinical Imaging Research Center (3-Tesla MRI), UTA Pediatric Health and Neurosciences Center, and UTA Bioengineering Program. The university aims to attract candidates who can bridge these fields and facilitate the translation of laboratory findings to clinical applications. Candidates with research programs focused on developing compounds, polymers, conjugates, or biomolecules for neuroscience applications such as brain-imaging agents, therapeutics, probes, delivery systems, or other relevant tools are encouraged to apply. The application letter should address the candidate's ability to contribute to neurochemical research, either independently, collaboratively, or with established UTA centers. A PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, along with post-doctoral experience, is required. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an internationally recognized, independent research group, mentor graduate students, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
