About The Position

The Department of Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member for an Assistant or Associate Professor position within the Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology program. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in I-O Psychology or a related field by the appointment date.
  • Demonstrated ability as a researcher, scholar, and teacher in a relevant field (for Assistant Professor).
  • Evidence of growth in scholarly achievement commensurate with years of experience (for Assistant Professor).
  • Demonstrated excellence as a researcher, scholar, teacher and mentor in a relevant field (for Associate Professor).
  • Strong record of publication in top I-O journals (for Associate Professor).
  • History of external funding (for Associate Professor).
  • Strong record of teaching and mentoring of students and early career scholars (for Associate Professor).
  • Advanced quantitative skills are preferred.
  • Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who have completed their PhD and have at least a few years of experience in an academic position.
  • Content of research focus is open, but ideally complements existing expertise (e.g., leadership, selection, individual and group differences, organizational/national culture).
  • Clear potential for external funding (for Assistant Professor).
  • Clear potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring (for Assistant Professor).
  • Record of collaboration is desirable.
