The Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture (RRSLA) at Louisiana State University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice whose principal expertise is landscape construction and combining technical design with design intent. The school seeks an accomplished landscape architect, designer, educator, or allied professional to teach landscape construction fundamentals and help students apply them to purposeful, resilient, and buildable designs. Teaching responsibilities include technical courses in the professional Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programs, along with selected contributions to design studios coordinated with other faculty. The successful candidate is expected to teach studios and core courses, review design projects, advise undergraduate and graduate research, and contribute to curricular development. The position is based in LSU's School of Landscape Architecture, part of the College of Art and Design. The school offers BLA and MLA degrees and provides access to resources such as the Hilltop Arboretum, fabrication and woodshop facilities, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, including LSU's Coastal Ecosystem Design Studio. Louisiana's rainfall, flooding, subsidence, coastal change, heat, soils, wetlands, and aging infrastructure provide a distinctive context for resilient design and construction.
