About The Position

The College of Health Professions invites applications for three full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Department of Nursing. Preferred begin date, August 2027.

Requirements

A research doctorate (excludes clinical practice doctorate) with expertise in a respective specialty area is required.
Evidence of an active research agenda is also required.
Candidates should have experience working with diverse populations.
ABD applicants will be considered, with appointment at the instructor rank; all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2028.
Candidates must hold a current unencumbered Maryland RN license or be eligible for Maryland RN licensure and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising.
Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor rank should have six years of higher education teaching experience or comparable qualifications and demonstrate a clear line of research with documented scholarly outcomes.

Responsibilities

Teaching - provide high quality instruction in a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses to a diverse group of students, advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the program and prepare to enter the profession
Scholarship – pursue, contribute to and/or collaborate with colleagues in scholarship that reflects one’s area of specialization ; this may include publications, quality improvement projects and grant related initiatives
Service – actively participate in service at the Department, College, University, professional and community levels.
