The Department of Animal Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Food Microbiology. This position is tenure-track for Assistant Professor and can be tenure-track or tenured for Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. The role involves developing an exemplary teaching, research, and service portfolio. It is a 9-month, full-time appointment with 60% research, 30% teaching, and 10% service responsibilities, starting August 15, 2027. The primary focus is on cutting-edge research and teaching in food microbiology, advancing meat science, and educating future leaders within a multidisciplinary faculty. The candidate will lead an extramurally funded, internationally recognized research program in food microbiology, with a focus on meat microbiology related to safety and spoilage. Leadership in fostering collaborative research and scholarship, and contributing to undergraduate and graduate education are expected. Engagement with disciplinary and industry stakeholders at various levels is also a key responsibility.
