About The Position

BYU-Hawaii is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for their Business Management program within the Business and Government faculty unit. The position focuses on undergraduate learning and teaching, and the ideal candidate will be fully committed to the university's mission and learning framework. As an educational institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU-Hawaii prefers to hire qualified members of the Church in good standing. Applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office to be eligible for employment.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or a PhD in a relevant business area is required.
  • Foreign equivalent degree from a nationally accredited institution accepted.
  • Applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church’s Ecclesiastical Clearance Office.
  • Applicants must cooperate fully in and must pass a background check to be eligible to receive an offer of employment from Brigham Young University–Hawaii.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching requirement is typically 30 semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not necessarily all) of the following subject areas/courses: Business finance, risk management, financial modeling
  • Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.
  • The individual should be fully committed to the university’s mission and learning framework.
