Assistant Operator
About The Position
This role involves assisting the operator by following instructions and performing various tasks to ensure smooth production. Key duties include inspecting work in progress for quality, maintaining a clean work environment, handling raw materials, and supporting the QA Packer. The Assistant Operator is also responsible for maintaining the hot melt glue tank, learning operational procedures to assist the operator, and performing operator duties during absences. Safe operation of Jib Cranes and Forklifts, adherence to safety regulations, and meeting production targets are essential. The role may also involve working in other plant areas and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Ability to take instructions from the operator.
- Ability to inspect work in process for quality.
- Ability to clean machines, floors, and work areas.
- Ability to unload, load, and feed raw materials.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and proper levels of adhesive in the hot melt glue tank.
- Willingness to learn operational procedures.
- Ability to perform operator duties during absences.
- Ability to operate Jib Cranes and Forklifts safely.
- Willingness to wear safety equipment and obey safety rules.
- Ability to satisfy production requirements.

Responsibilities
- Assist the operator by taking instructions and performing incidental tasks.
- Inspect work in process for conformance to quality standards and advise the operator of any deficiencies.
- Continuously clean the machine, floors, and work areas.
- Unload, load, and feed raw materials into the machine.
- Assist the QA Packer as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper levels of adhesive in the hot melt glue tank.
- Learn operational procedures to satisfy the requirements of the operator.
- Perform operator duties in the Dri Loc operator's absences.
- Operate Jib Cranes and Forklifts in a safe manner.
- Wear safety equipment and obey safety rules.
- Satisfy production requirements.
- May work in other areas throughout the plant.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
