About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking a full-time Assistant Office Coordinator to join their rehabilitation team at an outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Westchester, IL. This role serves as a liaison between MOR and patients, facilitating communication with patients, clinicians, physicians, insurance companies, the billing department, and work comp adjusters. The ideal candidate will provide professional, friendly, and compassionate service to all patients and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required
  • Strong background in providing excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Work well in a team atmosphere
  • Enjoy interacting with people

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and coverage preferred
  • Prior medical experience, preferably in Physical Therapy clinic
  • Have a strong sense of leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and registration of patients
  • Collecting copayments, self pay and DME payments
  • Serving as the liaison between insurance companies, patients, clinical staff and billing
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality with regard to medical records per company policies and procedures and assuring compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
  • Supporting the Office Coordinator in sharing daily function responsibilities, communicating any questions, changes or updates
  • Obtaining pre-approval and scheduling Function Capacity Evaluations and verifying insurance
  • Responding to patient inquiries and needs in a polite and timely manner
  • Performing administrative duties/special projects as assigned
