About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, this role supervises nursing personnel, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates to provide optimal client care. Key responsibilities include opening and/or closing the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and overseeing the Mobile Medication Unit.

Requirements

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse License.
  • Current NYS Infection Control Certificate and BCLS Completion Card.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a RN, preferably in a substance use disorder treatment program.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory/management position.
  • Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, Electronic Health Records, etc.).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with service recipients of diverse social, cultural and economic groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor nursing staff’s adherence to facility and nursing department policy and procedures.
  • Assist staff with interpreting and implementation of departmental policy/procedures.
  • Assist in the ordering, delivery, tracking, handling, and monitoring of controlled substance inventory.
  • Ensure all reports are generated, as required by the facility and regulatory agency mandates.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and evaluation of staff.
  • Comprehend the staff disciplinary process.
  • Promote client relations by assisting in the reviewing, investigation, implementation of corrective action (as indicated) and resolution of client complaints.
  • Review, with staff, changes in federal and state laws/regulations impacting clinical practice and service delivery.
  • Ensure adequate staffing by reviewing staff schedules prior to submitting for approval.
  • Assist in processing staff timesheets for payroll.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Assist with the process of accurate reporting to regulatory agencies and internal sources in accordance with regulations and indicated timeframes.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of Nursing on matters concerning the physical plant operations and resources.
  • Utilizing the nursing process will assess clients when indicated and refer appropriately.
  • Provide health education/teaching to support client adherence to their prescribed plan of care.
  • Assist staff in the delivery of services, including medication administration, in both the OTP and on the Mobile Medication Unit.
  • Assist in the evaluation of clients and recommend interventions to the Director of Nursing and/or clinical staff.
