The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) role on 8 South, a Pediatric General Care unit at the University of Rochester, involves supporting standards of care and providing consultation and expertise in patient delivery. This position contributes to goal achievement through personal action and facilitation of others, participating in community and professional organizations to promote nursing's visibility. The ANM provides expert patient care, serves as a resource, consults as requested, and communicates effectively within the unit and service. Responsibilities extend to human resource management, developing recruitment and retention strategies, and monitoring patient outcomes. This full-time position requires flexibility with day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and holidays per unit policy. The unit specializes in the care of children with orthopedic, endocrine, pulmonary, and adolescent medicine diagnoses.
