About The Position

The Assistant Nurse Manager leads an assigned team of care providers cultivating collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect while providing patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. Through collaboration and with the manager's leadership, the Assistant Nurse Manager leads the team in providing patients and their families with patient focused care. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in the overall planning, organization, direction, and evaluation of patient care operations for a designated area(s) and is key in operationalizing the health system's mission, values, and goals to create an environment that supports the nursing professional practice model. The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, guiding, coaching, and evaluating the work performance of assigned patient care staff in their designated areas, ensuring ongoing collaboration with other departments/areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - All applicants must meet BSN required by being enrolled within 12 months and completed within 36 months
  • Nursing major/area of concentration
  • Current Ohio RN license
  • Department specific certifications
  • BLS/ACLS completed within 90 days of hire
  • Specialty certifications to be completed within 36 months of hire
  • De-escalation training within 6 months
  • Clinical experience in an acute care setting
  • Prior demonstration of Leadership/management skills
