Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care, directing and developing staff, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs and providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and assisting with the coordination and delivery of patient care.
  • Facilitating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Rounds to oversee clinical care, support team engagement, maintain a safe environment, and enhance the patient and family experience.
  • Reviews and evaluates patient care documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrating sound decision-making ability and flexibility regarding the needs of patients, families, and staff members.
  • Encouraging and promoting high standards of patient care.
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing is met to meet patient needs.
  • Addressing daily operational issues.
  • Responsible for monitoring team member schedules, coordinating overtime, and ensuring staffing aligns with budget.
  • Ensure productivity targets are maintained.
  • Ensures payroll is accurate.
  • Ensure equipment and supplies are maintained.
  • Assist with budget preparation and monthly variance analysis.

  • Maintains and regularly updates unit policies and procedures to reflect current best practices and regulatory expectations.

  • On-Call as needed to meet the department needs.
  • Delivers direct patient care in productive numbers as needed to meet the needs of the department and as directed by nurse manager/leadership team.
  • Collaborates with Nurse Manager to develop unit-based goals; reports out to system and hospital-wide committees on quality metrics; active engagement in the Magnet application and ACC accreditation processes.
