About The Position

The Dietetic Assistant plays a crucial role in coordinating patient meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists. This position involves taking patient meal orders, assisting with meal selections while considering cultural and religious preferences, and monitoring patient meal tickets to ensure compliance with prescribed diets. The Dietetic Assistant is also responsible for efficiently processing new diets, changes, tube feedings, and NPO orders, while maintaining accurate records. This role is part of the team at Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center and is a per diem position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates patient's meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists.
  • Takes patient meal orders via phone and at the bedside.
  • Assists with meal selections while taking into consideration cultural and/or religious preferences.
  • Monitors patient meal tickets- this includes reviewing and modifying as needed to comply with prescribed diet order.
  • Processes new diets, changes, tube feedings and NPO orders efficiently while keeping accurate records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
