About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where they provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region. The 7th Floor Medical Surgical department is a medical surgical unit where they primarily treat septic patients. This department has 36 beds, and sees a range of surgical patients, ETOH withdrawal, cellulitis and treats many chronic conditions such as COPD and CHF. The unit has a great culture focused on teamwork and positivity, with high nurse communication scores. They are an innovative unit, often where hospital-wide projects begin. They are looking for dynamic, hard-working people, who are looking for a strong medical surgical floor and have a vested interest in the department’s mission. Candidates must have a positive attitude, open communication skills, be hard-working, dedicated, and accountable. As an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you will be responsible for developing, achieving and maintaining the goals of a unit or department by focusing on the unit or department’s daily operations.

Requirements

  • 2 years clinical RN experience
  • A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN)
  • Current RN License to practice in state of employment
  • Nursing Specialty Certification: Required to sit for certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • Must achieve certification within 2 years of hire/transfer into this role

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months - 1 year clinical leadership experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Consistently promote a positive & healthy work environment by being visible and available to all levels of staff and customers.
  • Collaboratively work with nurse leaders in maintaining productivity, supporting initiatives, and ensuring units/departments are appropriately staffed.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
  • Daily productivity and expense management and support unit/department manager with budget preparation.
  • Focus on patient safety, patient experience, and performance improvement in alignment with unit/department goals.
  • Encourage employee participation in decision through shared governance and support change management.
  • Support professional development to improve employee retention.
