Requirements
- Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required. MSN/MN preferred.
- Relevant clinical nursing experience at proficient to expert level of practice required with two years supervisory, leadership, or charge nurse experience in health care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staffing, scheduling, productivity management, workflow planning and staff development.
- Proficient in use of PC-based computer software including Microsoft Office applications.
- Current applicable state RN license required.
- Current BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities
- Provides support and managerial assistance to the Nurse Manager in overseeing daily unit operations, including: Staffing and scheduling, Orientation and onboarding, Education and competency assessment, Budget monitoring, Establishing and maintaining patient care standards, Promoting evidence-based practice, Implementing quality improvement initiatives
- Acts as a key resource and backup support for unit staff and departmental operations
- Facilitates departmental workflow in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
- Serves as the primary resource for staff and the organization in the Manager’s absence
- Reports directly to the Nurse Manager and assists in overall department management
