Assistant Nurse Manager
About The Position
Farmington Hills Hospital, recognized by U.S. News & World Report and designated as a Magnet® hospital, is seeking a motivated nurse leader for its 48-bed Ortho/Neuro/Trauma unit. This unit cares for patients recovering from joint replacements, spinal surgeries, fractures, stroke, and traumatic injuries. As a Stroke and Trauma Certified unit, they invest in ongoing specialty education. The multidisciplinary team includes nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, case managers, and orthopedic care coordinators working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The Assistant Nurse Manager will partner with the Nurse Manager to lead daily operations, support team development, and foster a thriving culture for patients and team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
- Two years of clinical experience Required.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
Nice To Haves
- Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred.
- Strong clinical experience in Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, Trauma, or Progressive Care.
- Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Preceptor, or Assistant Nurse Manager.
- A collaborative leadership style with strong coaching and communication skills.
- A commitment to quality, patient safety, and team member engagement.
