About The Position
Baptist Health is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Emergency Department team at Baptist Emergency at Oakleaf in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time night shift opportunity. This emergency center provides convenient access to high-quality care for a rapidly growing community. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to patient-centered care. Assists the Nurse Manager with unit/area operations. Works closely with the direct care staff during their shift to deliver quality patient care. Is an expert clinical resource. Facilitates the admission, transfer and discharge flow. Takes a lead role in implementing changes. Supports and coaches staff development. Makes shift to shift patient care assignments. Takes a direct patient care assignment as needed.
Requirements
- 3–5 years Nursing Experience
- Medical Surgical and Telemetry Experience
- Leadership and Charge Nurse Experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as needed to support operations
- Monitor and improve clinical workflow and patient outcomes
- Serve as a liaison between staff, physicians, and departments
- Mentor staff and provide coaching and performance feedback
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and budget management
- Support employee relations and performance evaluations
- Promote a culture of collaboration and accountability
- Assists the Nurse Manager with unit/area operations
- Works closely with the direct care staff during their shift to deliver quality patient care
- Is an expert clinical resource
