About The Position

UW Medical Center–Harborview has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 to join us in our Operating Room. This position assists with RN3 operational and leadership duties, collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager/RN3 peers, and makes a difference in patients and employees served. The department provides professional nursing care while supporting daily operations and team leadership within the unit. It serves as a clinical resource, supports staff development, and partners with the Nurse Manager to maintain safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse license or valid Multistate license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum of two years of professional surgical nursing experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Operating Room registered nurse, with proficiency in perioperative nursing practice

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
  • Coordinate care across departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff
  • Support staff education, onboarding, and ongoing competency development
  • Assist with daily operations, including patient flow and staffing coordination
  • Promote effective communication among patients, families, and care team
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of care
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to team members
  • Serve as charge nurse as assigned and participate in committees as needed
  • Assist with unit goals, program development, and process improvements
