About The Position
UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager/ Registered Nurse to join our Complex Medicine / Ortho Unit. This is a 90% FTE position working days. The 6SE unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in acute medical-surgical care for medicine (not primary cardiac diagnosis) and orthopedic patients with bone cancer diagnoses. The unit has a diverse variety of patient diagnoses outside cardiac care and sees quick patient turnover, with length of stay averaging six days.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; applicable experience may substitute for education.
- Charge nurse experience, preceptor experience and/or leadership experience
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
- Current or recent med-surg nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
- Assumes staff assignments and preceptor responsibility
- Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others
