Join our Neuro Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU) team at Baptist Jacksonville as an Assistant Nurse Manager. This is a full-time night shift leadership opportunity supporting our Neuro Stepdown and Stroke Unit. In this role, you'll partner with the Nurse Manager to ensure exceptional patient care, support staff development, and provide clinical leadership in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Requirements

  • Medical-Surgical nursing experience required.
  • Post-surgical nursing experience required.
  • Progressive acute care nursing experience required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nurse Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Neuro IMC/PCU.
  • Work closely with direct care staff throughout the shift to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Serve as an expert clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in complex patient care situations.
  • Oversee, direct, and coordinate care for patients requiring immediate treatment of medical, surgical, neurological, and other acute conditions.
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow by coordinating admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Create and manage shift-to-shift patient care assignments to ensure appropriate staffing and quality outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation of process improvements and practice changes that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Support staff development through coaching, education, and performance feedback.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed to support unit operations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
