As an ASC Assistant Nurse Manager at the Strongsville Family Health and Surgery Center, you will leverage your leadership expertise to optimize workflows, strengthen operational processes, and support the delivery of exceptional patient care. In this role, you will help guide daily operations, contribute to staffing and scheduling, participate in interviews and hiring decisions, and address performance concerns, including administering corrective actions when appropriate. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients, their families, and fellow caregivers by fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment. Candidates must have experience as an RN in the operating room, with circulating experience required and scrubbing experience preferred. A caregiver in this position works 40 hours| 7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm| Strongsville ASC.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of Professional Nursing
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within first year of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross one year of beginning work in the ASC
  • Two years of recent clinical nurse experience
  • Experience as an RN in the operating room, with circulating experience required

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts and coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues.
  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area.
  • Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions and collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.
  • Alerts nurse manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.
  • Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
  • Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area.
  • Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives; participates in department and committees as assigned.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.
