This role provides guidance and direction to professional, ancillary, temporary, or intermittent staff within the Emergency Room. The Assistant Nurse Executive plans and adjusts work schedules and operations to meet established objectives, priorities, deadlines, and Standards of Care. This position involves communicating team assignments, projects, and problem-solving initiatives, as well as identifying and distributing workload among employees based on skill levels and established workflows. The Assistant Nurse Executive assesses team strengths and weaknesses, serves as a coach and facilitator, and ensures the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated and integrated into team strategies. The role also involves ensuring timely execution of admissions and transfers, monitoring all aspects of patient care, advising less experienced staff, and identifying educational needs. Preparation of reports, monitoring work progress, managing unexpected leave, resolving employee complaints, and collaborating with the Nurse Executive on performance management and team recognition are key responsibilities. Additionally, this role assists with conveying Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance projects, supervises day-to-day work activities, completes employee performance evaluations, and ensures compliance with various healthcare regulations and standards.
