Assistant Merchant - Men's Knits & Sweaters
About The Position
The Assistant Merchant supports the execution of seasonal assortments for the Men's Knits & Sweaters department and serves as a point person for cross-functional partners in production, marketing, design, allocation, and planning. The role assists Merchants in organizing assortments aligned with department strategy to increase earnings, identifies product opportunities, and develops expertise in the competitive landscape. The Assistant Merchant partners with Design and Production on product strategies and requirements to meet customer needs, support AUC profitability, and improve speed to market. The role also collaborates with Planning and Allocation on seasonal investment strategy by market, communicates seasonal strategies to cross-functional teams, prepares and analyzes selling recaps, and manages samples.
Requirements
- 0–1 years of merchandising experience.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the departmental execution of seasonal assortments.
- Act as a point person for cross-functional business partners in production, marketing, design, allocation, and planning.
- Assist Merchants in organizing assortments aligned with overall department strategy to increase earnings.
- Identify product opportunities and develop expertise in the competitive landscape.
- Partner with Design and Production on product strategies and requirements to meet customer needs, support AUC profitability, and improve speed to market.
- Partner with Planning and Allocation on seasonal investment strategy by market to protect big ideas and growth drivers.
- Communicate seasonal strategies collaboratively to key cross-functional teams to support innovation and financial success.
- Prepare and analyze selling recaps.
- Manage samples.
