About The Position

The Assistant Merchant supports merchandising work at Carter’s, reporting into Merchant and based in the Buckhead office. The role covers style setup and system management, sample management, seasonal strategy and line structure, and costing, pricing, and margin management. It includes managing style data and samples, supporting wholesale sell-in meetings and seasonal planning, tracking business performance and competitive trends, and helping maintain accurate pricing and margin information.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
0–2 years of merchandising, retail sales, buying experience, or internship experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of retail metrics and sales.
Strong working knowledge of Excel reports and PowerPoint presentations.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and lead a team.
Ability to meet concurrent deadlines and manage and prioritize own workload.
Strong presentation and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

Own style setup in PLM, understand database complexities and effects on other systems, and keep system information current as lines change.
Analyze and report on business performance, including key findings and opportunities.
Organize and manage samples, and prepare and manage materials for wholesale sell-in meetings.
Partner with the manager to develop and manage seasonal line structure to drive growth.
Identify new trends, demonstrate an eye for product, and report on competitive landscape learnings.
Manage corporate calendar deadlines and support preparation for milestone meetings.
Support the manager with style-level costing and total margin rollups.
Communicate costing constraints clearly to Design.
Maintain brand pricing charts and ensure accuracy across systems and rollups.
