About The Position

Chatham University is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Men’s Wrestling Coach to support all aspects of its NCAA Division III Wrestling Program, a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the mat while helping advance a competitive and successful wrestling program. The Assistant Wrestling Coach will assist the Head Wrestling Coach in the daily operation and administration of the wrestling program. Responsibilities include recruiting qualified student-athletes, supporting student-athlete development, assisting with program operations, promoting compliance with NCAA and conference regulations, and representing the program at University and community events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong leadership abilities and exceptional character.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of NCAA Division III athletics.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of collegiate coaching experience and NCAA Division III experience as a coach or student-athlete preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating recruiting efforts to attract qualified student-athletes.
  • Support the development, assessment, and retention of student-athletes through coaching, mentorship, and leadership development.
  • Assist with practice planning, competition preparation, and overall program operations.
  • Help manage program resources, equipment, and operational needs.
  • Promote student-athlete success in academics, athletics, and personal growth.
  • Assist in supporting campus initiatives and coordinating athletic events that enhance school spirit and community engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all University, NCAA Division III, and Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Represent the wrestling program at on-campus events, admissions programs, and University functions.
  • Represent the wrestling program at recruiting events, tournaments, and high school competitions.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, integrity, leadership, and academic achievement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Wrestling Coach.
