Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of relevant coaching and recruiting experience and/or playing experience at the college or professional level
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • A DMV background check is required for this role

Responsibilities

  • Recruit outstanding student-athletes.
  • Coach at the individual and team level.
  • Perform video analysis.
  • Develop skills of student-athletes.
  • Plan games and practices.
  • Focus on recruiting, practice planning, motivating and mentoring student athletes, and game planning duties as assigned by head coach.
  • Engage in alumni events.
  • Participate in community engagement.
  • Support the academic progress of players.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit outstanding prospective student-athletes - local, regional, national, and international.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with high school and AAU coaches.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of unofficial and official recruiting visits.
  • Maintain and manage recruiting logs and contact dates/times.
  • Assist with promoting the University and basketball program through social media channels that align with strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Assist with the instruction, assessment, and growth of basketball student-athletes.
  • Assist in implementation and management of academic progress.
  • Serve as active participant in student-athlete progress off the court in a holistic approach.
  • Assist with daily administrative duties for all aspects of the program.
  • Help organize team travel to matches including ground transportation, lodging and meals.
  • Work collaboratively with head coach, equipment manager and vendor on team equipment ordering.
  • Plan, coordinate and establish initial contact for program future scheduling.
  • Review and evaluate practice and game video and prepare scouting reports.
  • Assist with organizing, administering, and supporting team building, practice planning, and game planning.
  • Perform preparations involving video breakdown and analysis.
  • Maintain practice records in accordance with NCAA and conference guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by head coach.
