About The Position

St. Vincent’s Behavioral Health Services, the flagship behavioral health service line of Hartford Healthcare’s Fairfield region and primary teaching hospital for Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, is seeking a Psychiatrist committed to resident and medical student education to serve as Assistant Medical Director in our department and as the Medical Director for our geriatric psychiatry inpatient service. The Psychiatrist will serve as the Medical Director for the unit and participate in patient care, resident supervision, and medical student teaching, joining a mature and collegial faculty peer group. Applicants will be eligible for academic appointment through the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine commensurate with the school’s appointments and promotions processes. Requirements

  • BE / BC Adult Psychiatrist
  • Committed to resident and medical student education

Nice To Haves

  • Completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship
  • Experience treating older adult and medically complex patients

Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality of psychiatric and substance use treatment to an elderly and medically complex patient population
  • Develop your leadership skills as the clinical leader for our multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Serve as faculty for our new psychiatry residency program with dedicated academic time
  • Participate in patient care, resident supervision, and medical student teaching
