About The Position
An established emergency medicine program at a community hospital in Northeast Ohio, approximately 60 miles northeast of Cleveland, is seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an Assistant Medical Director position. The role combines clinical emergency medicine with administrative leadership in a modern 24-bed Emergency Department that sees approximately 27,000 annual visits and serves a medium-to-high acuity patient population. The department provides 24 hours of daily physician coverage and 20 hours of APP coverage, with emergency trauma evaluation and transfer capabilities and a helipad for higher-acuity transfers. The program uses Epic EMR. The Assistant Medical Director collaborates with the Medical Director on clinical operations and quality improvement, supports physician and APP development, and has the opportunity to work with residents and medical students. The position offers competitive hourly compensation, a monthly administrative stipend, and professional liability insurance. It is an independent contractor (1099) opportunity.
Requirements
- ABEM board certification is required.
- Eligible for Ohio medical licensure.
- Interest in clinical operations, quality improvement, and team development.
