About The Position

EAD Management Services is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support projects in industrial and processing facilities. The role supports mechanical engineering design, documentation, and coordination while building technical, field, and client-facing experience needed for future licensure. The position involves working on projects of varying sizes and complexity for clients in industrial manufacturing, including food, pharmaceutical, and parcel facilities.

The engineer will prepare technical deliverables, specify process and mechanical equipment, and develop HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. The role also includes field verification, multidisciplinary design reviews, safety compliance, and support for business development. Work may take place in an office, plant, or client-site environment, and travel is required. Periodic weekend, holiday, or evening work may be needed.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Commitment to obtain EIT certification within the first 12 months of employment and actively progress toward Professional Engineer licensure.
• Organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, vendors, and in-house staff.
• Self-starter.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets, including macros.

Nice To Haves

• Prior mechanical engineering experience through a co-op or internship.
• Experience with HVAC, heat transfer, utility/piping, and/or plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications, calculations, equipment and piping layouts, and monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and EAD standards.
• Develop proficiency in EAD equipment layout, piping design, drafting standards, and construction documentation practices.
• Specify process and mechanical equipment, including tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, dust collection, and HVAC.
• Develop and design HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems for industrial facilities.
• Participate in field verification, measurement, and documentation activities.
• Perform technical design reviews with other disciplines to ensure design integrity.
• Adhere to safety standards and project protocols.
• Support business development through data gathering, technical input, and proposal assistance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
