Requirements

  • Assists in overseeing the daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring exceptional customer service, quality products, food safety compliance, and profitable sales growth.
  • Supports the Meat Manager in leading department associates, maintaining inventory levels, merchandising products, and achieving departmental goals.
  • Assumes leadership responsibilities in the Meat Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily Meat Department operations to ensure efficient workflow and execution.
  • Support sales, gross profit, shrink, and labor objectives through effective planning and execution.
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation standards throughout the department.
  • Ensure department conditions are clean, organized, and customer-ready at all times.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory control, and product rotation.
  • Deliver and promote exceptional customer service standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support special orders and customized customer requests as needed.
  • Foster a positive shopping experience that drives customer loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and company operating standards.
  • Monitor proper handling, storage, labeling, and rotation of meat products.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
  • Assist with department audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain attractive product displays that drive sales and support promotional initiatives.
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize out-of-stocks and reduce shrink.
  • Ensure proper execution of pricing, signage, and merchandising plans.
  • Support seasonal and promotional merchandising activities.
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing department associates.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
  • Provide direction and support to associates during daily operations.
  • Assist in scheduling and workforce planning activities.
  • Serve as acting department leader when the Meat Manager is unavailable.
