As an Assistant Meat Manager, you’ll support daily operations within the Meat Department, help lead a skilled team, and ensure customers receive high-quality products and exceptional service. This role is ideal for someone with experience in meat cutting, meat department operations, retail grocery, or supervisory roles looking to grow into leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience in meat cutting, meat preparation, or grocery retail required.
  • Ability to work in cold environments (cooler/freezer) and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic computer and scheduling familiarity.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to work full-time, including peak business times.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily Meat Department operations, ensuring product quality, rotation, and food safety.
  • Assist in supervising Meat Cutters, Clerks, and department staff.
  • Help achieve department goals including sales, labor, shrink, and merchandising standards.
  • Perform meat cutting, wrapping, stocking, and product presentation as needed.
  • Lead the department in the Meat Manager’s absence.
  • Assist with scheduling, training, task assignments, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
