About The Position

As a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation, Trane Technologies is seeking a skilled problem solver to join their growing HVAC business as an Assistant Material Planner. This role involves developing and maintaining positive working relationships with suppliers nationwide, managing materials orders throughout their lifecycle, and addressing inquiries from suppliers, production, and logistics regarding order changes, expedites, and returns. The Assistant Material Planner will also manage back-flushing processes, supplier lead time updates, assist with inventory control investigations, and resolve accounts payable issues. This position requires cross-functional collaboration with product management, factory, finance, scheduling, logistics, and shipping to meet customer requirements, while also proactively staying current on product knowledge and standard work, and utilizing problem-solving skills to improve processes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement, materials management, accounts payable
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must show the ability to handle difficult situations while remaining professional and courteous
  • Must demonstrate the ability to build strategic relationships across functions of an organization
  • Must exhibit the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and take initiative to implement them
  • Must actively seek and apply new knowledge, assimilate information quickly, and contribute to a culture of learning

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Suppliers nationwide
  • Manage materials orders throughout their lifecycle
  • Answer incoming inquiries from suppliers, production, logistics regarding order changes, order expedites, product returns, and other general inquiries
  • Manage back flushing processes
  • Manage Supplier LT updates
  • Assist with inventory control investigations
  • Research and resolve any accounts payable issues
  • Work cross-functionally with product management, factory, finance, scheduling, logistics, and shipping to meet customer requirements
  • Proactively keep current on product knowledge and materials standard work
  • Use problem solving skills to improve processes
