About The Position

The Material Planner will deliver on the medium- to long-term (9-12 months) forecast of material requirements to suppliers and activities related to mid- to long-term material requirements for assigned suppliers/materials across the region. This role also tracks the contract coverage position, raises new requisitions to procurement, and identifies risks and opportunities in medium-term material supply plans, driving dialogue and escalation. The Material Planner will retrieve and organize future requirements and inventory data from systems, plants, and vendors to support Materials Management replenishment strategies, ensuring data accuracy. They will maintain spreadsheets for inventory tie-outs, circulate destruction orders for approval, and ensure appropriate run-out of materials to minimize waste, communicating with Brand & Finance leadership. This role expedites deliveries and addresses availability and service issues with plants, vendors, and supply organizations, assisting with prioritization of production/plant allocation. The Material Planner provides centralized communication to senior leadership and stakeholders on material planning, execution, and coverage for continuous production. They participate in all commercialization activities, manage material supply and communication, and link with the Procurement, Commodity & Ingredient Spend Area, and LPR Organization. This role leads in cross-border, cross-category planning processes and issue resolution, provides post-seasonal or discontinuation assessments to drive year-over-year improvement, and drives collaborative forecast/capacity meetings with key vendors to ensure a continuous supply of materials. Additionally, the Material Planner develops and implements strategic plans and goals for RP Inventory & Waste Targets and leads in the annual budgeting process for RP.

Requirements

  • Experience in FMCG/CPG environment, preferably food or other fast moving, dynamic industry where shelf life is a constraint
  • Experience in an IBP/S&OP environment
  • Able to influence cross-functional teams, working on the key priorities and improving the plan
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills – and able to understand and interpret data
  • Team player who can work with many other functions on a daily basis
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in Supply Chain
  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel Skills; MRP and reporting tools (SAP, SAPBI)

Responsibilities

  • Develop short- and long-term materials planning for items produced internally and externally
  • Meet KPIs including raw/pack inventory levels, compliance to schedule (CTS), and material write-off
  • Perform root-cause analysis for continuous improvement of the plan
  • Maintain the integrity of system data and information for supply/materials planning
  • Partner with procurement for material optimization
  • Support and implement improvements in the planning arena to improve customer fill rate, inventory targets, and waste reduction to meet company KPIs
  • Ensure accuracy of data based on supply planning process
  • Minimize waste and communicate with Brand & Finance leadership
  • Expedite deliveries and address availability and service issues with plants, vendors, and supply organizations
  • Assist with decision making around prioritization of production/plant allocation
  • Provide centralized communication to senior leadership and stakeholders on all messages relating materials planning, execution, and coverage for continuous production
