About The Position

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for operating all equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing associated paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility on an approximately daily basis. This role requires strong communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers. Essential skills include accurate and quick arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), making correct change, and strong verbal, written, and telephone skills for order processing. Motor coordination for rapid and accurate hand/finger movements is necessary, as is the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The role primarily involves standing, walking on various surfaces, and occasional sitting for paperwork. Lifting of bulk product deliveries (up to 50 pounds) is required, as is carrying smaller items. Team members must also infrequently climb stairs or ladders and perform stooping/bending at the pizza prep table and front counter. Crouching/squatting is occasionally needed for stocking and cleaning. Reaching is continuous, both up/down and forward, including reaching above 72 inches occasionally. Hand tasks require continuous use of both hands, including forceful pinching and grasping various items. Team members may be required to utilize pens, computers, telephones, calculators, pizza cutters, and pizza peels.

Requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and give correct written instruction
  • Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
  • Must be able to make correct change
  • Verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process order
  • Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movement with speed
  • Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to carry trays of pizza dough (about 12 pounds per tray) two at a time over short distances
  • Ability to infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder
  • Ability to perform forward bending at the waist
  • Ability to crouch/squat occasionally
  • Ability to reach continuously up and down and forward, including reaching above 72 inches occasionally
  • Hand-eye coordination is essential
  • Use of both hands is continuous during the day
  • Ability to manipulate a pizza peel
  • Ability to fold cardboard boxes
  • Ability to grasp cans, phones, the pizza cutter, and pizza peel, and boxes
