About The Position

The Assistant Manager supports and consults with the Store Manager on overall store operations and administrative duties, including determining approaches to meet store goals. The role requires knowledge of each product area or department and upholding the policies, procedures, and standards in the visual manual. The Assistant Manager is passionate about providing outstanding customer service and promoting merchandise. In the Store Manager’s absence, the Assistant Manager assumes supervisory control of the store and is trained in Store Manager responsibilities. The role also involves assisting with personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation; guiding employees and customers; monitoring inventory, sales statistics, and expenses; and helping ensure departmental responsibilities, service standards, and profitability. The Assistant Manager performs administrative duties as needed and helps protect company assets and financial information by supporting effective internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. The position is based at Lake Mead Crossing in Henderson, Nevada, and is listed as full-time and hourly, with pay of $15.75 per hour.

Requirements

Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
1–3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in controlling company assets.
Consult with the Store Manager on action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume responsibility for the entire store when the Store Manager is absent.
Assist with recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel.
Provide employees and customers with knowledge and guidance across departments.
Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
Direct staff to ensure departmental responsibilities and standards are completed.
Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
Ensure quality customer service is maintained, including assisting customers as they enter and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell company services and merchandise.
Uphold company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals and company memos.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective and reporting potential fraud risks.
Perform general administrative duties as needed and train in Store Manager responsibilities.
Supervise employees in the Store Manager’s absence, including interviewing and training employees, planning and assigning work, directing work, and resolving problems.
